What

All questions can be broken down into what. Try it. Who becomes what is the identity of that person. Where becomes what is the location. When becomes what is the time. Why becomes what is the reason. How becomes what is the method.

What would make a nearly 40 year old man quit a really easy, well paying job to go be a farmer? In my case, it took many thousands of hours of mostly podcast listening and reading facilitated by the job I had which afforded me much drive time and 8 years spent nearly entirely alone for 8 hours per day. This massive download of information completely changed the way I view the world in such a way that made my comfortable position seem precarious.

I began to see that the way things are organized now is not as rock solid as the surface appearance would lead one to believe. Money, food, schooling, media, government, healthcare are run mostly for the benefit of those who run them and are at best not as helpful as they could be at furthering society. At worst, they may cause you to waste vast amounts of your life chasing things which are not all they were said to be. Any one of these topics would be beyond the scope of what I want to achieve with this website and have already been well explained by those who do it for a living. I began to accept that the only way for Humans to advance from our current position is with a return to personal responsibility and freedom. Freedom to succeed and freedom to fail. This means that more people will need to be able to take care of their basic Human needs: parenting-food-water-shelter-sanitation-security either individually, or in some sort of community arrangement. People who can take care of themselves and their community will be hard to convince that they need help from a centralized coercive institution. Permaculture offers a method by which this can be achieved.

Permaculture is a problem solving method which allows one to quickly see if an action is both moral and effective. Permaculture offers the method in three principles which are:
Care of Earth
Care of People
Return of surplus into the system
If your actions do not violate these principles, you will set an example for others and possibly influence them to live a moral life.
